Front Strut Bar - also known as a “front strut tower brace,” this bar connects to the top of the front strut towers, which are usually located in the engine bay, and prevents the chassis from flexing during cornering. It makes the chassis more rigid, resulting in better handling by preventing the strut towers from flexing, also helping with shock tower loads and equally dispersing force through the chassis.

What makes Ultra Racing front strut bars unique?

Consumers choose our front strut bars over the multi-pieced, flexible designed front strut bars made by other companies because our front strut bars come in a one-piece design that provides more rigidity and overall performance compared to a front strut bar that is multi-pieced. By installing an Ultra Racing front strut bar, your vehicle will experience less chassis flex, better handling over road bumps and through corners, and our one-piece design will never need to be adjusted, tightened, or risk failing from moving parts like the multi-piece design of other companies.

Made from ASTM A500 Grade A (American US Standard Mild Steel)

All materials used are carefully selected to ensure the best performance and safety. The brackets are made of 4MM to 5MM steel plates, while the hollow steel tubes and oval tubes are of 1.2MM to 1.6MM thickness. These materials' thicknesses ensure the bars are rigid and strong to maintain constant geometry at all times, yet safe enough to crumble during an impact.

BEFORE VS AFTER A FRONT STRUT BAR

strut-bar-before.gif

BEFORE

Part of the shock from impact transfers to the chassis, causing wheel housing and lower arm deforming.

strut-bar-after.gif

AFTER

Once equipped with an Ultra Racing strut bar, the shock from impact will be neutralized on both sides.

WHILE ENTERING A CORNER

BEFORE

The weight transfer and force gathers on one side, causing unstable handling and an increase in body roll.

AFTER

Once equipped with an Ultra Racing strut bar, body roll decreases which evens out weight transfer. The car is now stabilized through turns and has better handling.

    Great Product, bad execution

Posted by Not-so-happy customer on Oct 12th 2023

Product and functionality are great. Install is easy and straight forward. Would love it if there's at least some sort of instructions with the product event if its just a simple one and includes the torque specs for the install. Once I got it installed you can definitely feel the difference as soon as you go on and off an on ramp. Car feels more planted and less body roll. Would've put 5 stars but the pain on my strut bar started peeling from the mounting points as soon as I tried tightening the 1st bolt. Tried to remedy it by adding a washer but that didn't help. Maybe this is a one of thing but this is my experience. Tried reaching out through their chat and message feature with no help so here we are.

    Strut bar

Fitment was great and I didn’t realize how much it could make a difference in the front end sway at high speeds. Great product

    Huge Difference

Posted by Drew on Aug 21st 2021

I was skeptical that this strut bar would make a noticeable improvement in handling, but was immediately blown away by how much tighter the front end of my A3 felt. It feels much tighter in the body but also in the steering wheel. Incredibly easy to install and would definitely recommend to anyone!

This product preforms as expected. Was a bit of a tight fit on install but that's what is needed. Will write subsequent review after a track day

    Front Strut Bar

Purchased this for my 2018 RS3, while not stated for such, it fit perfectly and cleared my 4” intake tube with room to spare. Significantly stiffer and great quality!

    Impressive improvement

Posted by Gary Waller on Nov 5th 2020

I'm not an expert, but it took me ten minutes to install the brace. I was shocked at the improved handling and especially the reduction in body roll. I feel much safer in a turn or sudden maneuver than before the brace. Simple and effective.

    Dramatic improvement in handling

Posted by Philip on Dec 13th 2019

I have a 2016 Audi A3 sedan Quattro. I have a stage 2 Tune on the car and have made several suspension modifications such as 034 Subframe mounts, Dogbone Mount, Tyrosol Deadset kit, H&R lowering springs matched with B8 Bilstein Shocks. The handling was good but I always felt there was something missing because I didn't feel 100% confident on tight cornering. I had to take off my tune to pass inspection and during that time I installed the strut bar and I did some spirited driving and I was in a sport car handling heaven. I was in shock at how fast I was taking turns without braking the car while the car stayed flat. I felt the stock power was perfectly matched to the strut bar and I didn't miss having the extra power. Once I did put the tune back on, it felt like the power was too much and ruined the car's perfect balance. The first Mod I should have done was this strut bar. Nobody talks much about chassis bracing but it makes sense that it needs to the first thing that is addressed before any other mods. I will try and purchase some more bracing from Ultra to find that perfect balance again to match all this power. I highly recommend that if you first starting to tune your car, get this first.
