Mitsubishi Evolution 7 to Evolution 8 and 9 Fender Braces
Many have asked if the Ultra Racing fender braces designed for the Mitsubishi Evolution 7 would work on the Evolution 8 and 9.
Our sponsored vehicle made them work. Well .... it was a slight modification.
Most of you had asked us if the mounting points of the brace to the door is the same from the Evo 7 to the 8 and 9 and if it would mount correctly. Well the 7-8 platform is pretty much the same chassis frame.
Also, we have had a few emails asking what the point of this fender brace. It's not for looks, but full functional brace. The Evolution and many other vehicle already have the cross channel brace, but our steel brace re-enforces this even better. If you drive hard or race the vehicle you will feel less of a chassis flex when cornering hard. Most have said the noise comes from the dash area. Our 3 point brace helps reduce this flex.
Look below on how Vick Chandra made his 3 point fender brace functional.
This is Vick Chandra's test fit.
2 small drilled holes where the brace will mount.
The nuts will be inserted through the existing frame hole you see in the picture. Now the key is ... be patient. Use lock wash nuts. You must purchase at a local hardware store or auto parts.

Vick has additional product items that will be test fitted, installed and documented. A 6 point full chassis brace, which connects the unibody chassis frame from the rear to the front, making the Evolution frame feel like a full rigid frame.
