9th Generation Honda Civic with Two Revisions? SAY WHAT!!!

Okay, well we never thought we would get to this point, but we must educate our enthusiast who are just learning about their own vehicles. 

The vehicle in question is the 9th Generation Honda Civic Coupe. Produced from 2012-2015, but Honda decided to create a slight revision through its generation years. In 2012-2013 the new look was smooth and sleek, and short lived. With Honda having issues with paint defects, it decided to change up things in 2014-2015. This created the version 2 (FG4),  which looked different in the sense that it now looked like a spaceship unlike no other. 

The new revision changed a bit in the front headlamps, bumper cover, rear quarter panels and rear bumper cover. The main structure stayed the same, except..... well the front core support. 

The new styled headlamp is far more in and on top of the core support. Our 4 point brace that everyone wants from the 1st version now has fitment issues with the 2nd revision Civic Coupe. 

If you are a DIY kind of gear head, well then the 4 point brace requires a slight mod. and a slight mod on the core support. You would need to creating 2 mounting points under the headlamps in order for the 4 point mounting brace to work. Our brace will be slightly off by 2MM, or less.

Now why doesn't the 4 point brace (UR-TW4-1992) not work on the 2nd version Civic Coupe?

Check these image provided by a customer who had no idea of the difference in the versions. This is the 2015 Honda Civic Coupe.

Could possibly work, just need to remove the headlamp so you can gain access to the core support under the bracket right? Ultra Racing engineers design the braces to be used with existing mounting points for better structure and easy to mount design. But sometimes, we just want these items to fit, so we modify and compromise.  

We hope that this article helps those who want to purchase the 4 point brace (UR-TW4-1992) and adapt it to their 2nd version FG4 9th Generation Civic Coupe.
